I blog when I’m in pressure.
Even though I have a lot of work to do, I still find the time to release these thoughts, just to shake some of the pressure off.
I just came from a long weekend. I treasure those times when I could just stay at home, play with my kid, cook for my partner, and have a chat with my family. Then when the weekend was almost over, I’d realize with a start that I haven’t done anything for our wedding! Panic attack.
So I have roughly seven months to go yet we’re still missing a lot of things. My entourage list wasn’t even completed. We haven’t asked our prospect ninongs and ninangs. With Daddy’s cute little nieces abroad and my cousins all grown up, we have no prospective flower girl on our list. Sheesh. I have already trimmed down my entourage and this would make it even smaller.
I don’t know how some brides can accomplish everything in 2 months. A year was not enough for me! I guess I’m really a crammer when it comes to all things non-academic.
This weekend we’ll have our pre-cana seminar. We’re looking forward to it, though I guess Daddy wasn’t too crazy about it – he isn’t fond of long talks. I am crossing my fingers that the seminar won’t have those long talks but would have some activities instead. That would be great.

The Mommy Bride Complains about the Heat! Grrrr
The Hottest Summer – Ever… in my 25 years on the planet that is…
You’ll know that the weather is really hot when you hear your partner – who used to work in the Middle East - complain about the heat.
You’ll know that the heat gets into everything when you have to wait for water to cool down before you could take a bath.
You’ll know that it’s really hot when ice cream melts within five seconds after taking it out of the freezer.
You’ll know that it’s hot when you can’t keep food out of the fridge anymore for fear of it being attacked by ants within a few minutes.
You’ll know that the air-conditioning can’t overcome the heat when you have to eat lunch along with your perspiring officemates.
You’ll know that the heat is unbearable when your expenses skyrocketed for the past month because you keep looking for ways to beat the heat.
You’ll know that the heat is insane when you and your partner have to forego your nightly exercise and even cuddling is a no-no – one or both of you ends up with sticky armpits (not very romantic).
When would El Nino end???
When could I enjoy an ant-free loaf of bread?
When would I be able to eat lunch without looking as if I joined a marathon?
When would I be able to cuddle again?
…. Bummer. I hate the heat.

213 Days before the W-Day!
Okay, so I decided to blog halfway through our wedding preps. I took the cue from my w@w sisters who have setup their glamorous blogs to chronicle the excitement and headaches that come with preparing for one of the most important days of our lives.
Whew. I always knew that wedding preps include shelling out a lot of cash, efforts, and energy, but never thought that my patience would also be tested. Haaaay.
Dad and I are actually in a phase where we’re taking a breather from the wedding preps. I haven’t talked to any supplier in two weeks. The last weekend was spent with the family, not going around town looking for another member to add to our dream team.
We ought to be worried by now. Still have lots of things to do.
Anyway, I have this knack for making checklists of things I have to do. It makes my life easier. So, I have prepared a checklist of things to be done for the month. If I have checked through all of this by the end of May, it will be the standard for the months to come!
The Mommy Bride Wedding Checklist for May.
book the florist / look for alternatives to flowers
design AND print the Save-the-dates (have to be printed by Mama’s bday, May 23)
canvass for female SS and FG dress fabrics (will need to buy them in June)
look for Dad’s barong-maker (just canvass, will book by June-July)
attend the pre-cana seminar (booked: May 15)
buy stuff for my DIYs (Divi/Quiapo)
Checklists are a must for any multi-tasker. Checklists could keep you sane. Weird, but I enjoy doing them.
Typical nerd.
I’d say, typical accountant.
This being my first post you’d expect to see our partners in preparing for our special day. Thought I’d spare you the hassle of reading through which suppliers we have already booked and what we have already done so far. Just check out our wedsite: Biboy and Marian's Wedding for more info!
